This seminar will cover the Nevada law on the use of deadly force concerning self defense. Each student will receive a copy of the Nevada law and a list of definitions of terms used in the law. Before deadly force can be used, three things must be present: Ability, Opportunity, and Jeopardy. We will define these terms and will use videos of encounters to help the student to better understand these and other aspects of deadly force law. Owning a gun, knowing how to shoot it accurately, and carrying a gun for protection are only half of what every gun owner should know and understand. You must understand the law, not only understand it, but understand it so well that you can make instantaneous decisions while under extreme stress. The hesitation caused by not being sure what you can and cannot do, can be all the attacker needs to overpower you and win the encounter. This seminar is not just important, it is essential. $165
Citizen Homeland Defense/Survival Course: How prepared are you, and how prepared do you need to be? The answers to these questions are dependent on so many variables that there is no definite answer other than whatever it takes to survive. However, it is beyond a doubt that the great majority of our citizens are in no way prepared to deal with an terrorism event similar to that experienced in Beslan or Mumbai. Our citizens' reactions will mirror those seen in those locales: try to stay out of sight of the terrorists, secure in place, and hope like heck that law enforcement or the military gets to them before they get to us. This is not a recipe for survival.
There are so many more options available to our citizens when attacked, unfortunately most are unaware what those options are. And of those that are, most will lack the necessary training and mindset to put those skills to beneficial use.
For many years, we have heard from our fellow officers and soldiers in the tactical and special operations communities that you cannot teach tactics and skills to civilians. Our philosophy is that we are all citizens, and it's the citizens who are the target. Response Options believes to not offer survival skills to those who are the target is incredibly short-sighted. Look at the ability of law enforcement and the military to "quickly" respond and neutralize these terror attacks. 9/11 should have taught us that it will be left up to the citizens to decide how much carnage those who wish us harm will achieve. It's time for the public safety community to acknowledge the need of the citizen's help in all facets of these evil events - To include: proactive escape, interfering with the terrorist's ability to engage static and passive targets, and even putting a stop to the killing and injuring of mass number of innocent victims by engaging the terrorists themselves.
Our Citizen Survival Course will include:

- Use of Cover and Concealment
